Armando is awesome. Keep old school local dives like this alive. You won't be disappointed.
I will not lie. This place makes you feel like family. Armando is the man and makes you feel like you have been here for forever. Ohh did i mention They have a pool table and $6 any tequila shots? Best hole in wall I have seen In years. 10/10 would recommend to a friend
I cannot even describe how perfect this bar is! Friendly staff, amazing ambiance and the best damn bar in Chicago. I am so happy it's my neighborhood bar! Mexico stand back... 439 is my jam!
One of my favorite local bars in Chicago. I always feel like family when I come here. Waitstaff is friendly and inviting. I especially like the music, one minute you are hearing Zacatecas music, then old school Hip-hop, Reggaeton and then classic rock, you won't find that at most bars in Chicago that stick to a certain theme. Prices are great especially compared to other nearby bars. This is my favorite hangout in Chicago!
Fantastic local dive bar. The owner, Armando, is super nice and welcoming. We went in with a group after North Coast Music Fest and we couldn't have been happier! Armando got our whole table (10 people) shots on the house. Sooo welcoming! They also have a pool table and great jukebox! Definitely coming back!
Good stop off, great artwork. Nothing on tap, one pool table, that's it- that's all you need
Loud mariachi music. The owner came and shook our hands and took shots of Patron with us. The painting is real. It's beautiful. Too loud for four people to talk but I'm not mad. Cash only.
Stopped in for an after work beer with my brother. As others have said you wouldn't know where it is unless you were looking for it but it is worth looking for. This is just a great example of a local bar to hang out and talk. Armando is as advertised! Very friendly and funny. He even gave us some chips and a shot on the house after we were there for a while! He said they are going to start doing soups on Thursday. There is nothing fancy about this place but lets face it sometimes you just want to go chill at a place where you don't have to worry about people judging you when you walk in the door. Almost forgot to mention that the prices are super reasonable too!!! When you go in be sure to mention to Armando the Felize Navidad Gringa recommended the place and you will get a laugh from him for sure....maybe even a bag of Fritos ;)
